Updated 21 October 2026 Closes in 11 days

The University of Lausanne (UNIL) in Switzerland offers Master's Grants for international students who completed their previous degree outside Switzerland. About 10 grants are awarded each year.

Deadline: 1 November 2026, for master's programmes starting in September 2027. Your recommendation letters must also arrive by this date.

What the grant covers

  • CHF 1,600 a month for the minimum official length of your master's (usually 3 or 4 semesters)
  • Exemption from normal tuition fees. You only pay a CHF 80 fee per semester.

Note: The grant does not cover all living costs in Lausanne, one of Switzerland's more expensive cities. Plan for extra funds.

  • Current UNIL students generally cannot use this grant to fund their existing degree
