UIII Scholarship 2027 for Masters and PhD in Indonesia

Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) is an international graduate university set up by the Government of Indonesia, based in Depok near Jakarta. It teaches in English and welcomes students from across the world, with scholarships for international master's and PhD students.

Two steps, two deadlines: Apply for admission by 31 March 2027, then apply for the scholarship from 22 to 29 April 2027. Results are announced on 30 April 2027.

What the scholarship covers

According to UIII, scholarships for international students typically cover:

• Tuition fees
• Living expenses
• Other allowances

The master's scholarship lasts 4 semesters (2 years).

Without a scholarship, tuition is IDR 25,000,000 (about US$1,500) per semester for master's and IDR 30,000,000 (about US$1,800) per semester for the PhD.

Requirements

• Age: 35 or under for the UIII Scholarship
• GPA: at least 3.00/4.00 for master's, 3.50/4.00 for PhD
• English (to apply for the scholarship):
  • Master's: IELTS 6.0–6.5, TOEFL iBT 80 or PTE Academic 58 (Law needs IELTS 6.5)
  • PhD: IELTS 6.5–7.0, TOEFL iBT 94 or PTE Academic 65
  • UIII's pages give slightly different scores, so aim for the higher one.
• Your English certificate must be less than two years old when your studies start
• Application fee: Rp 700,000 or US$50

No English test yet? You can still apply for admission as a self-funded student and join an English matriculation class, but you cannot apply for the scholarship.

How to apply

1. Choose your programme on the UIII admissions site.
2. Take IELTS, TOEFL iBT or PTE early, since you need the score to qualify for the scholarship.
3. Create an account and submit your application with your documents and the application fee before 31 March 2027.
4. Once admitted, apply for the scholarship between 22 and 29 April 2027.
