TU Delft Justus and Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships 2027
Updated 14 October 2026
Open
Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), one of the world's leading technical universities, offers the Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships to outstanding international students starting a two-year MSc in September 2027.
What the scholarship covers
- Full tuition fees for each year of a regular two-year MSc programme
- A contribution toward living expenses
TU Delft gives only a small number of these scholarships, about two per faculty, so competition is very strong.
Who can apply
- International students applying for a regular two-year MSc at TU Delft
- Excellent academic record. Successful candidates are usually in the top 10% of their previous degree programme.
- You must have applied for, or already received (conditional) admission to, an eligible MSc
- Not eligible: students with a bachelor's from another Dutch university, current TU Delft bachelor's students, and Joint Education Programmes
Fields
All of TU Delft's regular MSc programmes, including engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, chemical), computer science, architecture, applied sciences, and technology and policy.
How to apply
You must submit all three of the following by the deadline:
- A complete MSc admission application for an eligible TU Delft programme, with all required documents, including your English test where required
- The scholarship application form, uploaded in your application
- Two academic reference letters
Incomplete applications are not assessed.

Deadline
1 December 2026, 23:59 CET for September 2027 entry.
Tips
- Start your MSc application now. Transcripts, an English test and references take time.
- Ask your two referees early, and give them at least 3–4 weeks.
- Use your motivation letter to link your past projects to the specific MSc and to TU Delft's research.
- Also look at other TU Delft and Dutch scholarships, since places are very limited.
