Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) in Doha, Qatar, is offering scholarships to master's and PhD students for the Fall 2027 intake. International students can receive a monthly stipend, a tuition waiver and a return air ticket.
There is no separate scholarship form. You are considered for funding automatically when you apply for admission.

- One round-trip air ticket for international students (arrival and return after graduation)
- The stipend covers living costs, including housing and meals. HBKU does not pay housing separately.
Important:
- Stipends are given to full-time students who work as research or teaching assistants (about 10 hours a week).
- Funding depends on merit and available funds. It is not guaranteed.
- Master's students pay the remaining 25–40% of tuition. LL.M., MS Economics and certificate programmes get no tuition waiver.
Eligibility
- A bachelor's degree for master's programmes, or a master's degree for PhD programmes
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent
- IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 79
- GRE: not required for most master's programmes. Required for some PhD programmes (for example, Sustainable Energy and Sustainable Environment).

- Apply early. Funding is limited and competitive.
- Make your personal statement specific: which faculty member's research matches yours, and why HBKU.
- PhD applicants: contact a potential supervisor before applying.
- If you're applying for a master's, budget for the tuition the waiver doesn't cover.
